The room is lovely, and I hope I can best describe my thoughts about it by saying that it represents “classical” in its broadest sense: that is, traditional but timeless. The curse of ‘Modernity’ in design, is that in its feverish obsession with innovation, it degenerates into mere “fashion” and however much clients wanting to “redo” their surroundings every other year adds to business, making a design that nobody gets tired of and wants to change in a hurry, would seem to me to be a designer’s greatest compliment!”
