Glavé & Holmes Architecture (G&HA) is pleased to have added 13 new full-time employees to the firm to support the firm’s growing portfolio.
Higher Education
Jill Nolt, AIA, LEED Green Associate, has joined G&HA’s Higher Education Studio as an Associate Studio Leader. Jill, an architect with 16 years of experience, will support the expansion of the firm’s higher education practice. She joins G&HA from 3North, where she was a Director. Jill earned her undergraduate degree in architecture and dual master’s degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the University of Virginia. She currently serves as Chair of the City of Richmond Urban Design Committee and is on the Steering Committee for Virginia Women in Design. She is also a member of the AIA Richmond Chapter and the University of Virginia Dean’s Advisory Board.
Winnie Sung, AIA, CCS, CCCA, LEED AP BD+C, brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm. She has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to joining G&HA, Winnie worked with Clark Nexsen. She serves as the president-elect for the Richmond Chapter Construction Specification Institute.
Erik Bootsma holds an undergraduate degree in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame. He previously worked for Grenfell Architecture. Bootsma is affiliated with the National Civic Art Society as a Board Member.
Stephen Hershey earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Virginia and his Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech. Stephen previously worked with Grunley Construction and as a teacher/research assistant at Virginia Tech in architectural history. He is a founding board member of the Association of Christians in Architecture.
Brian Mork received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture from Judson University, as well as a Master of Architectural Design and Urbanism from the University of Notre Dame. He worked most recently as a Teaching Assistant at Notre Dame and is a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism.
Robert Riddle, Associate AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. Prior to G&HA, he worked at Clark Nexsen. Robert is working to complete his Architect Registration Examination and become certified in Virginia.
Urban Architecture
Evan MacKenzie has a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining G&HA, Evan worked with 3North. He is participating in the 2014 VSAIA Emerging Leaders in Architecture program and volunteers at Storefront for Community Design.
Hilary Mork earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Traditional Architecture and Urbanism from Judson University. Hilary’s previous work experience has been with Period Architecture in West Chester, Pennsylvania and Alvin Holm Architects in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Cultural
Tim Hayes has an Artium Baccalaureatus in Classics, a minor in Historic Preservation and Community Planning from the College of Charleston, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Miami. He worked most recently with Piret Johanson Studio in Miami, Florida.
Emely Taveras, Associate AIA, NCARB, is a graduate of Andrews University with a Master of Architecture. She worked with Wightman & Associates before coming to G&HA. Emely is working on becoming a LEED Accredited Professional and preparing for the Architect Registration Examination.
Interior Design
Ashley Long, CID, LEED AP ID+C, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked at Parsons Corporation and BCWH prior to joining G&HA. She is currently the Chair of Richmond Women in Design.
Rebekah Russell has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. She previously worked with Luck Stone Corporation as an Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Hotel & Home
Rachel Shelton, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, received both her bachelor’s and master’s in Architecture from Virginia Tech. She previously worked with SFCS, Inc., and recently completed participation in the 2013 VSAIA Emerging Leaders in Architecture.
