Glavé & Holmes Architecture received an Honor Award for Design Excellence from the Richmond Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the Charles Luck Stone Center.
In 2004, Luck Stone launched an initiative to rebrand its Architectural Stone Division with the intent of establishing a high-end retail experience for customers. As part of that effort, Luck Stone engaged a consultant team to create an appropriate physical space to sell stone products in a design-oriented environment. The new name for the division is Charles Luck Stone Center.
The center serves as the platform for an immersive customer experience in the Studio, providing inspiration through the use of stone for homeowners, designers and contractors. The interior of the building, designed in collaboration with Fraser Design Associates, is adorned throughout with innovative applications of stone. The surrounding site, designed in collaboration with Nelson Byrd Woltz, includes numerous examples of exterior stone applications, completing the total visitor experience.
